NGO Monitoring Committees

District and Sub County Non Governmental Organisations Monitoring Committees

These are established at district and sub-county level respectively and are supervised by branch offices of the Bureau.

-the chief administrative officer

-the district Community Development Officer

– the District Health Officer

– the District Internal Security Officer

-the NGOs representative in the District

-the District Education Officer

-the Secretary for Gender and Community Services

Their functions are to
Consider applications for registration by CBOs
Keep and update the register of CBOs
Monitor and supervise SNMCs
To recommend organizations to the Bureau for registration
Advise district councils on matters of registration and monitoring of NGOs.
Monitor and provide information to the bureau on activities and performance of NGOs with in the district.
To guide and monitor CBOs in the provision of their services.
To implement policy guidelines for CBOs.
Community Based Organisations (CBOs) are all required to be registered with the DNMCs s. 20(5).
Sub County Non Governmental Organisations Monitoring Committees
They are created at every sub county
Comprised of;

-senior assistant secretary who is the chairperson of the committee

-the Sub County Community Development Officer

– the Sub County Health Inspector

– the Gombolola Internal Security Officer

-the NGOs representative in the Sub County

Their functions are to;-
Recommend CBOs to DNMCs for Registration.
Advise DNMCs on matters of NGOs and CBOs in the Sub County.
To provide CBOs in the Sub County with guidelines to enable them effectively participate in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes.
To monitor and provide information to DNMCs on the activities of NGOs with in the Sub County.
To report to DNMCs on the activities of Organisations within the sub county.
